Lazio superó un examen importante: luego de un pésimo comienzo de 2011, con el empate en casa de Genoa y la derrota local ante Lecce, necesitaba absolutamente ganar para volver a meterse en la pelea. Lo más relevante es que lo hizo como un grande, es decir al cabo de unpartido muy complicado, ante un rival muy encerrado y atento, con un mínimo de peligros en su arco (Muslera prácticamente no la tocó) y aprovechando una jugada de pelota parada para meter el zarpazo ganador.
